So it’s about time I got around to a seasonal handbag here and its getting very close to Halloween so I think the time is about right. First thing I have to admit about this Corto Moltedo clutch is that you can’t actually buy it yet which is slightly annoying. I’m told it’s going to be available online within the next month and hopefully in retailers for Christmas. Main reason I like it though is just how well this scary little spider fits the proportions of the clutch, even the metal web that has hold of the purse looks great.
I suppose the main reason I’ve held off from seasonal handbags here is because most of them look really naff off season, I mean do you know anyone with a Christmas purse that cost more than £5 and didn’t come in a cracker? However this cool little clutch does have the look of something that’s going to fit in any goth wannabes wardrobe, I can totally see people wearing this year round. Another point is it rare to see a great accessory on a modern bag these days but the intricate black widow spider on this Halloween bag really does stand out but still fits in with the overall look. I suppose that’s not an easy thing to pull off and it’s probably easier to design a great colour scheme or use great materials in your bag. Still it is something I would like to see more of, how about you guys? Before I forget the official site doesn’t have any prices or any real details yet but hopefully they will update it soon.

So I don’t want to sound big-headed but it’s not too often that I find a handbag by a designer I’ve never heard which is the case with this shoulder bag by Jil Sander. Just from the pic above you can see it’s quite a departure from the usual summer leather we’ve been seeing lately. First thing that does spring to mind is the world “futuristic” and that’s not a phrase I’ve used here before. I suppose it’s quite a trick to predict what bags will look like in 10 years which is probably why everyone is so obsessed with making vintage bags at the moment. There really is something of the “sci fi” movie about this handbag don’t you think? Something in my head keeps screaming out “Minority Report”!
As you can guess from the sketchy content of this post so far details of the bag itself are very thin on the ground, even at the official site at store.jilsander.com there’s no mention. Could be (and probably is) some attempt to drum up some more hype but I don’t really see the need as something this good sells itself. From design alone it really does look a class act, everything from the oversized strap to the clasp on the front scream effortless cool (with a dash of comfort). To many this will look like a business bag from the off but to me it’s going to go great with anything even slightly classy in your wardrobe. Prices are still unknown but I’d be surprised if you can snag it for under £1500.

This may be a first (so many posts I can’t remember) as I’m featuring a makeup bag for the first time here. It’s by a new site/designer called breadcrumb and it’s probably the cheapest thing I’ve ever had here at £15. It’s always nice to feature something in the true budget category as I know that even though a designer bag from chloe at £500 may be cheap comparatively it’s still a lot of money to be spending on any type of fashion accessory.
The best thing about this make-up purse is that every one is actually unique from a design point of view as the layout on the bead zip is different for each. The main print which is a Love letter on 100% cotton canvas looks really cool and definitely has an art deco or event vintage look about it.
It’s a pity it’s not close to Christmas as this is one of those perfect gift ideas, it’s cheap and unique but seems so personal at the same time. I must remember to feature more small “nik naks” like this in the future as they are the ideal impulse purchase (compared to a £1000 handbag anyway).

Sometimes I just can’t help myself and completely forget the name of this blog to tell you about a bag that costs more than and your average Audi J. Still it’s always nice to look and that’s something you would be doing quite a bit if you were ever lucky enough to own this Bottega Veneta briefcase in tan crocodile leather. First thing I have to get out of the way is the price which is the nice round figure of £16,700, hopefully you were sitting down when I said that.
Leaving aside the issue of price for the moment I think this is the first briefcase I’ve ever reviewed here a cheaphandbags so it’s nice to have a first. The thing is though I’ve never really seen the appeal of a designer briefcase unless you’re using it to carry a laptop/notebook around. Also the shape is always constrained to that same rectangle out of necessity to fit standard documents (boring stuff) inside. Whereas if you take your standard handbag there’s literally no end to the possibilities and designers can (and do) go a bit crazy.
I think the problem as you can tell is I’m just not sold on the briefcase idea in general and especially such an expensive one like this. There’s no doubt that the material used in this Bottega is incredible as you can’t take your eyes off it. However at the same time I’m thinking wouldn’t this been even better as a tote or even a slouch bag where the material can move with you instead of just being a big box? Ok so calling this bag a big box may be a little cruel but I think this fabulous crocodile leather could find a much better home somewhere else.

Yes i know, two Christian Louboutin bags in a row i must be getting lazy right? Well this bag is actually quite interesting so i thought i would post on it regardless. First point is that this is another Python bag which as you can see here seems to be all the rage this week. Im not sure if the python thing is here to stay but it is definitely here in a big way now and I’m seeing a lot of designers taking advantage of the fact. There is something about snake skin though that has always fascinated me, i suppose it just makes you want to touch it to see what the texture is like, most of us don’t handle real snakes on a daily basis lol.
It also probably hasn’t escaped your attention that the bag has a leopard print on the python skin which is so absurd it actually works! I also really like the way the bag handles as its rigid enough to hold its shape but at the same time comfortable. How it feels is very important to me as any shoulder bag in my experience is not just going to be used for styles sake but actually to carry things around (now and again), the strap in gold is also really fitting. I think Christian Louboutin has put together a really cheap designer handbag in the truest sense as this bag is only £1200 in most stores. I can tell you for real python skin this is proper bargain, also considering the quality of the material and the history of this designer i think you have a bag that is going to last a long time both in fashion and practical terms.

So i decided to review another Christian Louboutin here on designerhandbag as i know alot of people really liked the last one which was a clutch in Metal and leather. This one is definitely a lot more unconventional with a distinct “punk” look which we don’t see too often. Indeed i have heard a number of people refer to the “piranha” look of this handbag which you could say makes it look even more aggressive. One worry i would have is what the bag is going to go with, I think it’s a case of evening wear out and distressed jeans in!
There are a number of things i like about this bag though even with the unusual styling, i especially like the embedded metal studs that start in the middle and go out to the sides. Also the rushed leather in the centre combines really well the black vinyl effect on the edges. Im not sure though on the whole who this clutch is going to appeal too, sure the rock chick market is big but is it very rock and roll to pay £950 for a handbag? Still if you’re looking for something different and are determined to stand out in a crowd then i think your search is over!

So i decided its about time for some comedy here on cheapdesignerbags so where better to start than with a Alexander Wang clutch bag in the style of an American football. I always love to see different types of bags and this one will be going straight into the unusual category! This bag features quilted brown leather all over and also has brown laces just like a real American football.
The great thing is it does actually look and feel like a real football and also a great designer handbag at the same time. I really like the whipstitching that you get below the silver zip which really gives the bag an authentic feel. One thing you may be thinking about is what type of outfit or latest outfit from the fashion world is possibly going to go with this. Will i think the keyword with this clutch is casual as this brown leather is going to go great with any dark jeans. Also you have to remember the obvious that this would be an ideal accessory for any type of sporting occasion. So there you have it a cheap ladies bag that even the guys can appreciate!

So i think this is the first time we have featured a bag by Diane Von Furstenberg here on cheapdesignerhandbag but theres no time like the present. One thing i really like that this designer has done is the overlapping folds in the leather that give a really unique look to the handbag. One thing i may not be sure about though and i think some of you ladies may feel the same is the random metal studs and discs scattered around, im just not sure if it works properly.
Still its always great to see something different and ive always been a fan of this designer (even though ive never featured them here). One cool thing though is the adjustable strap that goes around the outside of the bag that allows you to really change the shape of the handbag. I know this bag may not be for everyone and i suppose you could say that’s its an acquired taste. One good point though that as far as the top designers go Diane tote bags are actually quite reasonably priced (when compared to DKNY anyway) as this one is about £600 in most stores, which given the quality of the finish and the materials used you could say its a steal (depending on your budget).

Theres always been something about shinny surfaces that has repelled me in the fashion world. I don’t want to sound over dramatic but ive often thought that these mirrored bags can look just a bit too cheap when you wear them. Still even though this Christian Louboutin may look cheap from some angles if definitely isn’t from the point of view of your bank balance as its over £600 on net a porter.
Still its always nice to see a different styles on bags now and again as i do get tired sometimes with the predictable leather handbag niche. So a little about this bag before i sign off, i has a distinctive shoe clasp frame and also red lining on the inside which i think is a theme of Christian Louboutin bags lately. Still despite my reservations about this bag im sure there will be a market for this designer and it is sure to be seen in “certain parties” this spring.

Everyone even Coco Channel seems to be into this new Farmyard thing this coming spring. Seems like its a craze here to stay as i see more than one designers going for this look. So i spotted these new set of handbags from Coco the other day and i have to say they look rather nice. One real plus point i think for this type of material is it should last alot longer than your average leather handbag, although this could just be me.
Also i think its great that more and more designers are starting come out with new designs rather than just the standard materials as it can get a bit boring. One thing to note though that while this may be a “farm” bag don’t expect farmyard prices as these are going to cost you upwards of £1000, still would you expect anything less from today’s top fashion houses.
