Valentino Jolie vintage bag

Valentino-Jolie

So time for another post here and time for a vintage bag this time which as you can tell is quite rare here. It’s not that I’m against vintage designer handbags in principle but because I’ve always been a fan of originality the new and the weird side of the bag world has always interested me the most. Still I thought I would post about this new (can you call a vintage handbag new?) Valentino Jolie Framed Patent Bag which has just come out.

It does look rather like a briefcase which I’m not sure is a good thing as it neither has the function or form of one. Still the bright tan leather does look incredibly sleek in a very 30s way and seems to be shiny from every angle. The main downside is it just doesn’t look that practical or even comfortable as it has just a single strap handle at the top, still if you’re a slave to all things vintage then this isn’t going to matter much to you.

I’m not too sure to be honest of pricing in the vintage sector and whether £1200 is a lot for a bag of this style so I’ll let you decide for yourself.

New discounted vintage handbag by Dicha

Dicha-Vintage-Bag

So in my never-ending quest to post new, interesting and most importantly cheap designer handbags here is my first ever vintage bag. I suppose the key thing you have to contemplate with any vintage bag is what era is it actually trying to emulate? Thats the first problem i had with this Dicha bag as i couldn’t really work out what time frame it was from. I mean it doesn’t look that art deco and it doesn’t look that 60s either.

What your really saying i think when you by something vintage is that your not willing to blindly follow the latest trends but instead a trend that happened 50 years ago, its still a trend after all. For some though the all over diamonds and pink ribbon on the front isn’t going to exude style and sophistication but at the same time you have to keep in mind that what we think is stylish now might look ridiculous 50 years ago too! Still we are living in the present era and i cant help but think this bag is a little too much at once, it really isn’t going to match with many other accessories or outfits around at the moment (unless you go for a vintage dress too!).  On the plus side it is available at quite a discount as its only £425 at netaporter.
