Cheap designer handbags

So I’ve been wondering lately what the deal is with my obsession for DKNY handbags and just where it all started at. I have to question it as DKNY are less than prolific when it comes to bringing out new bags. As an example I just visited their official site and found 3 bags for sale which I found quite funny if a little astounding. I suppose there’s also a case for doing just a few bags really well rather than 100s of bags that hoping that there is something for everyone, which is better?

With all this in mind I thought I would show you guys this cute Hobo that I found on the site which both looks a little strange but also very intriguing. It does look quite small for a HOBO despite the name but it could be the idea bag to bridge the gap between clutch and shoulder bag which is always a good market to be in.

The leather looks really great and I’ve been a fan of the Burnished effect for a while as it just stands out so much more than your average treated leather bag. I know some won’t really like the shape as it seems a bit like an American football, however with DKNY you can almost always be sure you are buying quality. I suppose that also raises the question if you are buying a designer handbag from a big brand name like this are you always guaranteed a quality long lasting product?

Im not too sure about the gold chains on the front of the bag as they do seem just a little out of place here but again that’s a question of personal taste. The colour also is a little boring but that’s the price you pay for a bag that’s going to go with so many different outfits. The price is around £245 on the official site but this isn’t going to include any import tax so you may have to filter that in, any of you guys know what this costs on the high street here? So i decided to mark my 50^th post here at cheapdesignerhandbag with something a bit funky and also a bit retro at the same time. The bag is by Mulberry Daria and has this really unique country and western vibe going on which i think is going to have wide appeal. First thing i thought though when i saw this bag is how great its going to go with a any pair of dark jeans, in fact there’s not a a lot of casual outfits this isn’t going to go with. I suppose this is my practical side coming out after all the purple and hot pink designer bags we’ve been featuring on here lately as this is a bag that’s going to suite a lot of styles.

Just because it isn’t too outlandish doesn’t mean its boring as the tassels on the light brown leather add a great flowing feel to the sides. Also the leather really stands out on its own as it has a really deep and reflective quality (i wont say shiny) that just oozes quality. I have to admit I’m not a leather expert like some people i know as i usually just judge any material on how it looks and feels. I’m sure there’s a whole science to it ill never understand. Still if you are thinking about a Mulberry handbag this season you could do much worse as cowboy leather look is going to be around for a while. It can be yours for around £700 in most boutique stores.

So this Valentino Petal Tote bag does have a really weird look i have to say. I suppose it’s in keeping with the metallic theme that i seems to be happening on cheapdesignerhandbag lately (im not sure how long this phase is going to last btw). The most noticeable thing about this bag apart from the metallic look is the massive petal design on the front which does kind of take over the whole thing i have to say. However the bag does still remain slightly understated due to the neutral brown colour so i suppose this handbag is going to fit with a lot of different party and daily occasions.

One thing to note is that the main look of this metallic bag is achieved by sequins and not the actual leather which depending on your point of view can be a bad thing. I really love leather and ive always thought that the whole point of a designer leather handbag is to show that leather off. Now i know leather can get boring sometimes and designers have to think of new ways to make it more exciting but this can often be achieved with effects on the leather itself as opposed to putting lots of “stuff” on top of it. Still if you are interested you can buy this bag online for around £2000 in the right places.

So as you know its not often that i feature celebrity handbags here on cheapdesignerhandbag but i have always liked Alexa Chungs sense of style and this new Mulberry bag really confirms it. I suppose to some the gold leather is a bit gauche but i actually really like it. Also the distressed pattern adds a really cool look to the overall design of the bag, although some will say distressed and gold don’t mix.

I suppose if you are looking for the “metallic” addition to your handbag set then you really cant go wrong with this Mulberry. One thing i do have to mention before you all rush of to the high street or Asos is that this is a limited edition bag and there’s only going to be a 40 of them made. I don’t usually do limited edition bags either on this blog mainly as i want it to be possible for you ladies to go about and buy the handbag yourselves if you like it. However with many of the bags on this site now over £1000 (this one is £750) i know that for alot of you just browsing the latest designer fashion is enough. It also raises the question of what you define as cheap as for some a top designer for £750 is a steal but for others any piece of fashion ware over £200 is excessive.

Still i think its great to see a designer like Mulberry doing something different as i havnt seen a cool gold bag (that doesn’t look tacky) in years. Even if you’re not keen on the celeb endorsement or the price i think this is a soon to be classic handbag (for the lucky 40 who get it).

Its the first time ive reviewed a Christian Louboutin bag on this blog so I thought I would make a post about this new quilted clutch purse they have just released. I have to admit the first thing that popped into my head about this bag when I saw it was a sofa I used to own years ago! It really has quite an unusual look to it and im pretty sure this is going to get you a lot of attention from anyone else into great designer ware when you are out and about.

I really like the metal circles on the outside of the handbag but I suppose the most surprising thing is that there not silver at all! They are actually silver quilted leather and I think it looks pretty amazing either from a distance or up close. I have to say its great to see something different on a clutch but also something that we can all appreciate as even though this clutch is very unique Im sure it will appeal to a wide range of tastes in the fashion world. The price is slightly on the steep side but that is to be expected from any type of Louboutin bag these days as its over £800 in most stores. Still if your looking for something to really stand out from the crowd then you really cant go wrong with this fantastic new clutch.

So time for another first and its actually quite a surprising one as i have never actually reviewed a Bottega Veneta clutch bag on cheapdesignerhandbag before, in fact i don’t think i have reviewed a Bottega Veneta at all! So to make up for the shame of this lack of Veneta i have a beautiful new Knot leather clutch in purple and pink.

I really like the styling on the out outside of the bag with the lines that run though the purple and white leather created by the line stitching all over. Also the knot clasp to keep your valuables safe is really cool though i suppose not completely original. I also have to be aware that for some this clutch does not stand out enough to justify the price tag as its well over £600 online. I suppose this is more of a casual type of clutch and wont appeal to everyone especially if you are going to a real classy occasion. The general look that this is going to go well with is dare i say it (jeans)?? When you look at it this way £600 is alot for a daytime bag that your not going to be taking anywhere that special.

Still its an amazing bag from Bottega Veneta and they do have one of the best reputations in the clutch market and even for handbags in general. You really cant go wrong with this designer, i mean just look at this bag, its stunning!

So its not often that we see a bag come back into fashion is it? I mean the ladies designer handbag world is a pretty crowded place with designers launching new bags all the time and constantly trying to outdo the competition. Theres not much room for nostalgia in the fashion world (well maybe once 10-20 years have passed). Still with all this being said i wanted to review a designer bag that first came out in 2007 and has since made a comeback, its the Siliverado bag from Chloé.

First thing you will notice about this shoulder bag is the shape as its really chunky so your going to be able to fit alot of the most important things inside as its actually quite deep. Also i really like the whip stitching on the handles and around the sides which gives it that real country and western look, which just like this bag is making a comeback this spring. The brown leather also feels really amazing though im not sure if its Italian or not. One thing that won’t be surprise to any of you is the price which is going to be over £1000 in most shops. For some a vintage Chloe bag for £1000 is a real steal but personally id have liked to have seen a bigger discount given that this bag is over 3 years old.

So i decided its about time for some comedy here on cheapdesignerbags so where better to start than with a Alexander Wang clutch bag in the style of an American football. I always love to see different types of bags and this one will be going straight into the unusual category! This bag features quilted brown leather all over and also has brown laces just like a real American football.

The great thing is it does actually look and feel like a real football and also a great designer handbag at the same time. I really like the whipstitching that you get below the silver zip which really gives the bag an authentic feel. One thing you may be thinking about is what type of outfit or latest outfit from the fashion world is possibly going to go with this. Will i think the keyword with this clutch is casual as this brown leather is going to go great with any dark jeans. Also you have to remember the obvious that this would be an ideal accessory for any type of sporting occasion. So there you have it a cheap ladies bag that even the guys can appreciate!

I know alot of people have been complaining recently that its alot of the best designer bags are coming out in America first. However i still think its possible to find great cheap handbags in the UK at good retailers. Of course there are some big shops and online stores over here too link Asos and Netaporter but on the whole i think there is an argument to be made that the best handbags can take a lifetime to reach our shores (if at all).

Anyway on a lighter note one of my favourite designers “Donna Karan” who almost always gets her wares to the UK at the same time as the rest of the world has just introduced one of my favourite bags of the year. Its called the Leather Crossbody and as you can see its has an distinctive and really different look. The most amazing thing is the dying technique they have used on the leather to create this really weird and cool zebra effect. Since it is Donna Karan you can expect to pay at least £600 in most retailers, now weather you view this as a “cheap deal” or not will be up to you but i for one think its a truly stunning bag.

So thought i would take the chance to clock in again here at cheapdesignerhandbag and give you guys a new post. Im actually on holiday at the moment so havnt really been up to date with whats going on but its nice to have a break. So here is a particularly interesting clutch from Jane de Bono Accessories which has the unique claim to fame of being completely handmade but available for under £50. Now how true this is i dont know but weather you think the the fact that it is handmade or not is important i think is a pretty cool clutch bag.

The front is a kind of grey leather with the word “Love” on the side in a kind of arty style. On the other side which you cant see in the picture is bright red. Best thing i think about this handbag is the retro rock/punk feel which you dont see too often with alot of bags these days. Things in the clutch world can be a bit formal and serious sometimes so i think this makes a welcome change. Until next time
