So as you know I don’t usually like to go too long without featuring a Marc Jacobs bag (usually under a month J) so thought I would review a bag that did achieve somewhat iconic status in the fashion world. This purple heart purse named the “Love clutch” was incredibly striking when it was launched over a year ago. Now you may be thinking this is a little too much attention for a purse over a year old but i just noticed that it’s been discounted by over 40% at the outnet (http://www.theoutnet.com/product/86466#) in the last few days. The thing is £351 for a genuine Marc Jacobs really is a steal and if you are going to go with a real brand designer then you might as well pick one of their most famous items like the “Love clutch”.
I suppose this does bring me on to a very important point. Just how much money can you save by waiting a season (or even two) for that bag that you simply had to have when it came out? Well it does seem to depend on the designer as realistically speaking a Jimmy Choo at £1000 isn’t going to be much cheaper a few months after launch. Indeed some bags even become collector’s items and increase in price believe it or not. What I’m really talking about is a bag that is mass produced (most marc Jacobs bags) so after a season retailers get scared of getting stuck with the stock and try to offload at a huge discount. The thing is these kind of “iconic” bags never go out of fashion (mostly) so it’s one of the most sensible purchases you can make (if you can wait that is).

So i decided to stop being lazy and write another post for you guys on the latest and greatest in the handbag world. In order to get suitably motivated i decided to pick something just a bit crazy in the shape of this Marc Jacobs fur bag. The picture says it all really as purple fur on a designer handbag is not something ive seen before and i think it’s unlikely i will again soon.
One question that is likely pop up is the dilemma of wearing fur and whether you agree with it being used for fashion purposes or not. Personally I’ve never had a huge problem with it if the material isn’t from an endangered animal of course. However at the same time I’ve yet to see fur used well in the designer accessories market and so I’ve stuck firmly behind the leather school of thought when it comes to handbags. I just think it’s very hard to make fur look classy/stylish when it comes to accessories, wild and unkempt is fine on a coat but when it comes to a bag you want to stay refined.
Im actually not sure what type of fur this is to be honest as there weren’t a lot of details about the bag from Marc (i was too lazy to look to hard lol) but im sure you can find out all the details at his site.

Its been a while since we’ve visited Marc Jacobs here so i thought i would let you know about this new Imogen shoulder bag. At first look this bag seems alot more “complicated” than i needs to be, to the point were im not really sure what im looking at. There are definitely elements of cowboys and Indians here but thats not necessarily a bad thing and its been done before (successfully) too.
On the whole i just think it all seems a bit too much especially the metal droplets on the front which just remind me of some bad country and western. On the whole i don’t sound too positive do i lol! Still this is a Marc Jacobs bag and that does always guarantee you great quality bud also big prices. This bag is going to set you back over £1300 so if Garth brooks is your thing then get shopping!

Ok so this seems to be happening more and more lately. Designer bags that look very alike. This time it is a bag from Jimmy choo and Marc Jacobs. Now i have to say that they are not exactly the same but there are some very big similarities in them. One difference that i am sure you are going to notice is the Price as the Marc Jacobs is around £995 and the Jimmy choo only around £395. Now that is quite a difference in my opinion. Still is does make you think, are the top designers looking more and more at each others work?
